The Capertee Valley Bird Festival is an event celebrating bird watching and nature conservation in The Capertee Valley, New South Wales.

The Festival is held annually, in September during the spring season when bird activity is peaking. The dates for the next Festival can be found on the home page of the website.

All Festival activities are ticketed.

Yes, experienced guides lead tours during the Festival, offering insights into local bird species and their habitats. The Birder's Pass provides a comprehensive experience for birders.

Kandos and Rylstone are near the Capertee Valley.

Kandos has an IGA Supermarket, pharmacy, post office, bakery, a GP,  two service stations, and a charity shop with a huge array of household items, books, movies and music in various formats.

Rylstone has a smaller supermarket, butcher, bakery, newsagent and postal agency, a hospital, a hardware store, and an ag store.

The Capertee Valley does not have retail area, there is one cafe; From the Paddock Farm Market and Cafe.

So the Festival has included meals, or the option to add a meal in some tickets.

In 2025, the Birder's Pass includes the option to add a lunch pack for Saturday in your pass purchase. While morning and afternoon tea will be available for purchase at the Birder's Pass speaker session venues where free coffee and tea will be available too.

The evening events on Saturday both include dinner in the ticket price.

The Friday evening photography exhibition opening and the screening of "Happy Feet" events will both have food available for purchase.

Bring binoculars, a field guide, your camera, comfortable clothing for outdoor activities, and any personal essentials for a day out in the field and in speaker sessions.
